
Fulbright Taiwan Graduate Student Summer Internship
The University of San Francisco Center for Asia Pacific Studies is pleased to announce an internship partnership with the Foundation for Scholarly Exchange (Fulbright Taiwan).

The center will fund up to two graduate students to intern at the Fulbright Taiwan office in Taipei, Taiwan, for 4 weeks in the summer of 2025. Funding of up to $2,500 will cover round-trip economy airfare and housing for 4 weeks.
Internship tasks include (but are not limited to): note-taking, creating flyers, marketing materials, and slide decks, internet research, proofreading materials, event management and assistance. Interns will work onsite at the Taipei office daily or help with events as needed. Hours are from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., with a 1-hour lunch break. Total internship duration: 160 hours.
Eligibility
To apply, students must be currently enrolled in a degree program at the University of San Francisco as graduate students and will have completed at least one semester of their program by June 2025 (i.e., entering their second semester or beyond in Fall 2025).

- Interest in the fields of international education, international studies, Asian Studies, linguistics, teaching, teacher training
- Solid academic record and/or extracurricular experiences
- Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to maintain professionalism across different contexts
- Demonstrated maturity and cross-cultural competence, able to work independently or on a team
- Expertise in Google Suite, Canva, and LinkedIn
- Ability to read Chinese characters and speak Mandarin and/or knowledge of Taiwan preferred but not required

- Attend our info session to learn more about the internship details
- Take photos to be featured on our social media and promotional materials
- Visit our office to receive a Center t-shirt and have your headshot taken for our social media
- Write a 500-word blog post reflecting on your experience upon return

- Program Dates: A four-week period in the summer of 2025, coordinated with the Fulbright Taiwan office
- Internship Application Deadline: April 15
- Faculty Recommendation Form Deadline: April 15
- In-person interviews: Late April
- Internship Awards Announced: Late April/early May
