Biography

Conor Smith is a core faculty member and the Assistant Director of Clinical training in the Clinical Psychology PsyD program at the University of San Francisco. He received his Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (PsyD) from the University of San Francisco and completed his clinical residency and internship at the San Francisco V.A. Health Care System. 

His primary clinical and research interests involve addressing the healthcare needs of LGBTQ+ people and other marginalized communities through improving their healthcare experiences. He developed a measure of minority stress experiences encountered by LGBTQ+ people in the healthcare system as his clinical dissertation project. He has also conducted research on how environmental factors such as housing status impacts the physical and mental health outcomes of members of the transgender community, and has researched the healthcare experiences of people who engage in kink/BDSM. He has recently begun consulting for summer camps to improve their ability to provide mental health support to their staff and the communities they serve.
