Jackson Huang

Biography

Dr. Huang is an Assistant Professor of Nursing appointed to teach Adult Health Nursing at the baccalaureate level. His teaching experience includes working with pre-licensure (BSN and MSN-CNL) students and MS Family Nurse Practitioner students. Working as a bedside nurse and as a nurse practitioner, Dr. Huang recognized how social determinants of health could disproportionately affect patient outcomes, prompting him to pursue his Doctor of Nursing Practice degree. His doctoral dissertation addresses barriers to pharyngeal and rectal GC/CT screening that the MSM population potentially encounters in the clinical setting. As a Jesuit-educated nurse, Dr. Huang is passionate about providing students a values-based education encompassing cura personalis as a framework for patient care.
