Biography

Dr. Michael Vallario is a licensed clinical psychologist at the VA Palo Alto Health Care System, where they work as a Suicide Prevention Coordinator and LGBTQ+ Veteran Care Coordinator. They also work in private practice part-time through the San Francisco Therapy Collective, and serve as volunteer supervisor on the training side of the practice, Queer LifeSpace. Their doctoral internship was completed at the James J. Peters VAMC in Bronx, NY and their postdoctoral residency in LGBTQ Interprofessional Health was at the San Francisco VA Health Care System. Dr. Vallario also consults for organizations interested in diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging initiatives, both in the VA and externally. They earned a Bachelors degree in the Honors Psychology program at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Florida, followed by Masters and Doctoral degrees in Clinical Psychology from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, where they were a student in the Multicultural/Diversity Track. They are currently based out of San Francisco, CA.
