Making a Difference for USF Students on Giving Tuesday

by Mahelet Aklilu, Office of Development Communications

The University of San Francisco achieved its Giving Tuesday goal for 2024 thanks to 345 USF community members who generously donated to help drive meaningful change in the lives of USF students and at the university collectively.

On Tuesday, December 3, the University of San Francisco celebrated Giving Tuesday — a global day of generosity on which people get inspired to give back to organizations that do good in their communities.

Guided by the Jesuit principles of service to others and education for social justice, USF strives to be a force for good. This Giving Tuesday, the university invited its community to unite in the spirit of radical generosity, encouraging everyone to participate by sharing the hashtag #RadicalGenerosityUSF and inspiring others to give.

Thanks to the collective efforts of alumni, students, faculty, and friends, USF raised over $66,394. The gifts will support in total 78 programs including scholarships, community programs, and social impact projects.

“The generosity of our alumni, staff, parents, and friends demonstrates what makes USF extraordinary — a community that comes together to transform students' lives and creates lasting positive change," said Chloe DuBois, associate director of annual giving.

USF's Giving Tuesday success showcases the strength of shared generosity, where every act, big or small, contributes to a brighter future.
