Davis, who made the list for the first time this year with USF alumna and San Francisco Supervisor London Breed MPA ’13, said the achievement reflects USF’s commitment to strong female leaders.

“To have that many prominent women acknowledged over the years shows how important developing female leaders is at USF,” Davis says. Since 2010, 10 USF executives, leading faculty, and alumni have made the annual list.

Also this year, Jennifer Turpin, provost and vice president for academic affairs; Judith Karshmer, School of Nursing and Health Professions dean; and Elena Flores, associate dean for the School of Education, were inducted into the paper’s Forever Influential Honor Roll, a new feature that highlights past Most Influential honorees as exceptional leaders.

Having so many USFers make the list also illustrates the university’s strong connections to San Francisco and its role in developing tomorrow’s workforce innovators and entrepreneurs, Davis said.

“These women are accomplished in a range of fields ... Though they work in different industries, what they share is perseverance and a passion for what they do,” wrote Emily Fancher in the paper’s introduction to the profile series of 151 Bay Area women.

Davis, Breed, and the other Most Influential Women will receive their awards at a gala dinner at 5 p.m. on June 4 at the Hilton San Francisco Union Square.
