41 Students and Alumni Win World Series Rings With Giants

The San Francisco Giants won their third World Series in five years, and for Madison Bumgarner and his teammates, the work is finally over but for many of the Giants employees who work behind the scenes, including 41 alumni and current students from the University of San Francisco Sport Management Master's Program, the work goes on.

Sure, for a few months, Patty Rally, '16 (Cohort 41), who works in the luxury suites at AT&T Park will have some down time, but other employees, won’t miss a beat. Shana Daum, '93 (Cohort 1), will continue leading the Giants' efforts to engage media and fans as their Vice President of Public Relations and Community Affairs and Adam Neitling, '05 (Cohort 20), will be hard at work managing scouting administration to keep the Giants farm system prospering through 2015 and beyond.

Beyond San Francisco

Although Bay Area residents are thrilled about the Giants continued success, the USF Sport Management Program's impact on Major League Baseball extends far beyond the city of San Francisco; from Jennifer Hansen, '07 (Cohort 24), Manager of Corporate and Community Relations for the New York Yankees, to Jaron Madison, '02 (Cohort 2S), Director of Player Development for the Chicago Cubs, and Megan Ebeck, '15 (Cohort 15S), Marketing Intern for the Los Angeles Angels. The program now has over 70 alumni and current students professionally involved with MLB teams.
