Hi! I’m Mai Nguyen, a rising second-year student in the MS in Applied Economics program at USF. I hold a Master’s in Business Analytics from Purdue University and a Bachelor’s in Business Administration from San Jose State University. Before joining USF, I worked as a Data Analyst in the education sector, where I used analytics to support equity-focused policy decisions and inform pre-graduation career interventions at the California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office.

I’d be happy to chat about coursework, adjusting to grad school, finding internships, or balancing work and study life. I’m currently working as a Data Science Intern at USF, where I lead projects that surface high-value donor insights, helping fundraising teams prioritize outreach and increase donor conversion rates. Please don’t hesitate to reach out — I’d love to help however I can!

Hello! I’m Jacinta Duncan, a second-year student in the MS International and Development Economics (IDEC) program at USF. I have a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations with a minor in Economics from San Francisco State University.

I chose the IDEC program at USF because of its unique approach to development economics - whether you’re interested in agriculture economics, poverty alleviation, gender, etc.. there’s space for you here. The IDEC program at USF combines theory with econometrics to train students professionally and to support future research. IDEC also has an incredible summer field research opportunity! I spent the summer between my first and second year in Italy with a small group of students learning the mechanics of designing and conducting a field experiment in behavioral and experimental economics.

If you have any questions about coursework, IDEC summer field research, balancing work and study, or San Francisco living - don’t hesitate to reach out!

Born and raised in San Francisco, I’m a scientist with five years of experience in the biotech industry. I’m passionate about drug discovery, delivery and medical writing. Outside of the lab, I enjoy an active and creative lifestyle: hiking through nature, baking in my free time, and frequently traveling to explore new places. I share my adventures with my tiny maltipoo, who adds a playful spark to my day to day life.

Hi all, I'm Rebekah, currently finishing up my master's in Data Science. After gaining my bachelor's in Mathematics, I spent most of my career as a teacher encouraging students and opening their minds to the beauty of math. Inspired by my own challenges as a teacher, I transitioned into tech through a coding bootcamp and now my masters. Happy to answer any questions about the program, life in SF, or anything I can help with!

Interested in how USF can set you up for success in the Sports Industry? I’m Georgia and I’m pursuing my master’s in Sport Management. After receiving my Bachelor’s in Sport Management in 2019, my curiosity to learn more in depth within the sports industry led me to USF where I have gained the confidence, knowledge and experience to make a difference wherever that may be. Currently it’s at the high school I am employed at and eventually it could be at one of my many dream jobs. Feel free to ask me anything about classes, professors, internship opportunities, even possible job opportunities associated with a master’s in Sport Management and the unique network within the University of San Francisco
