Data Engineering Concentration
The Data Engineering Concentration builds on the curriculum of the MSDS program, focusing on a comprehensive theoretical and technical understanding of statistical analysis, machine learning, and systems to deploy and maintain a life cycle of data and models.
How to Apply
Students enrolled in the MSDS program have the option to add the Data Engineering concentration. Interested students should apply to the MSDS program, complete their first semester, and by the end of intersession (end of January) make the choice to add the concentration.

Real World Immersion Beyond the Practicum
The Data Engineering concentration extends the MSDS program by only one semester, with a total program time of 18 months. During the spring and summer, students complete the core MSDS curriculum, while the second year fall semester is dedicated to Data Engineering concentration courses.
Courses meet twice a week in the afternoons and evenings, allowing students to focus on their post-graduation job search or work part-time. International students have the option to do part-time work or an internship through Pre-Completion Optional Practical Training (OPT) while enrolled in the Data Engineering concentration.
