The USF Center for Asia Pacific Studies is excited to welcome Yunwei Chen for a lecture on innovative approaches to maternal and child health.

While advocacy for comprehensive and adaptive healthcare interventions is growing, a key challenge remains: how do we design, implement, and scale these programs effectively to support large populations during critical developmental stages? Drawing on a 5-year project in rural communities in China, Dr. Chen will share transformative strategies for meeting the ever-changing healthcare needs of mothers and children, while ensuring these interventions are scalable for lasting, widespread impact.

Yunwei Chen is a Postdoctoral Scholar at Stanford University, affiliated with the Stanford Center on China's Economy and Institutions and the Stanford Center for Innovation in Global Health. Trained in global health economics, her research explores innovative solutions for effective delivery of public health interventions in resource-limited settings, using rigorous experimental and quasi-experimental designs. Her current work focuses on integrating digital health technologies to develop comprehensive, tailored interventions for mothers and children during crucial developmental stages, with an emphasis on both effectiveness and scalability.
