Innovative Approaches to Sustainability in the Asia Pacific Region

The University of San Francisco Center for Asia Pacific Studies and Center for Business Studies and Innovation in the Asia-Pacific welcome you to attend this panel presenting the Asia Pacific region’s innovative approaches to sustainability. Our goal is to cultivate a discussion across the Pacific on these important matters that have deep ramifications for US policymakers and public welfare. 

The Asia Pacific region is at the forefront of global sustainability challenges and opportunities, marked by its diverse ecosystems, rapid urbanization, and dynamic economies. This panel brings together changemakers exploring and implementing innovative strategies to address the region's unique environmental, social, and economic sustainability issues.
 

Juyeon Jung, CEO of Wear Again Lab, studied French language and literature in Korea and communication studies in France. She has experience working in cultural policy for government agencies in both countries and previously managed a publishing company. Currently, she leads a sustainable clothing culture campaign at Wear Again Lab, a non-profit organization.

Veera Swaminathan is the CEO of SL2 Group, a collective of sustainability-focused organizations with operations in Singapore, Indonesia, India, and the US. His professional experience spans the domains of sustainability, foresight, corporate innovation, and AI skilling. Veerapan serves as the Co-Chair of the Climate Action SG Alliance and is an EXCO member of the SGTech Sustainability Steering Committee. Veera graduated from the National University of Singapore (NUS) with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Masters in Intellectual Property Management. He also sits on the NUS Alumni Advisory Board.
