Biography

Jessica Lifland is a Bay Area-based photographer, editor and instructor with 20 years of experience as a photojournalist working all over the United States and internationally in such places as Kosovo, Burma, Italy, The Middle East, and Africa. Her work has been published nationally and internationally in publications including The New York Times, USA Today, Le Monde and National Geographic. She has done non-profit work with organizations such as Operation Smile and The California Health Care Foundation. She has been working on a long-term project documenting the lives of working cowboy poets and musicians in affiliation with the Western Folklife Center in Elko, Nevada. She is working on turning her project into a book.
