Jonathan Lee
Adjunct Professor
Biography
Dr. Lee has completed in depth remarkable research and education on transitions in electric power systems and electricity markets, specifically microgrids and distributed energy resources, the role of new technologies in grid planning, and the effects of the physical structure of power systems on social equity. In 2012 as an intern for Blue Energy Dr. Lee created and developed electrification work in Nicaragua, Vietnam, and Uganda which entailed design, installation, and evaluation of off grid solar systems for rural households and community centers. Dr. Lee starting in 2014 was a co-founder of New Sun Road P.B.C. and served in roles as Lead engineer, Research Consultant, Senior Researcher & Development Engineer to currently Director of Research. Through Dr. Lee’s constant work has published several publications focused on micro grids, solar systems, and electric power systems. Dr Lee holds master of science degrees in Energy and Resources & Electrical Engineering and Computer Science as well as a PhD in Energy and Resources all from University of Berkeley.
