Biography
Maria Rheba Estante, MA, LMFT, LPCC, is an Adjunct Professor in the Marriage & Family Therapy program at the University of San Francisco’s East Bay Campus, where she teaches graduate Community Mental Health. Her teaching integrates trauma-informed, culturally responsive, evidence based clinical modalities with an emphasis on ethics, crisis intervention, advocacy, and community-based service delivery. A Certified EMDR Therapist and Consultant-in-Training at EMDRIA, she draws on advanced training in EMDR, ERP, Brainspotting (Phase 1 & 2), CPT, ACT, Habit Reversal and relational systems approaches. Her research interests include PTSD with co-occurring OCD and related conditions, repetitive body-focused behaviors (BFRBs), phobias and sensory sensitivity. She is completing advanced study in adult psychoanalytic psychotherapy.
