Biography
Mukul Bakshi brings over 30 years of global advertising experience to the classroom, teaching the “Advertising Creative Process.” He began his career at J. Walter Thompson, known within the industry as the “University of Advertising,” where he worked with Pepsi, Citibank, Motorola, and Nestle, among others.
Today, Mukul runs a full-service agency in San Francisco, directing campaigns across traditional, digital, and emerging media for global brands. His expertise spans creative direction, brand strategy, market research, media planning, and navigating AI’s role in the future of advertising. Having lived in four countries, Mukul understands consumer behavior and infuses his global perspective into both professional work and teaching. He prioritizes mentorship, influenced by his journey in advertising. Outside the classroom, he supports community causes and has served on the World Affairs Council’s Board of Trustees and crafted campaigns for social issues.
