Biography
Sabrina L. Nelson is a writer, filmmaker, photographer, graphic artist, educator, and entrepreneur. Sabrina teaches Writing for Science, Writing for Psychology, Public Speaking, Writing for Advertising, and Business and Technical Writing at USF, and English Composition and Multimedia Arts at Berkeley City College. She taught film editing at Academy of Art University for eighteen years, and has taught graphic design, film editing, and film festival producing at Berkeley City College for nine years.
Professor Nelson has contributed to the Annual Young Rhetoricians Conference and is an annual contributor to the USF Adjunct Faculty Conference. She recently completed a review of open-source courseware and texts in the teaching of English composition for the State Chancellor’s Office OER (Open Educational Resources) Project, and developed online learning standards for English 1a at Berkeley City College. Relying on her 18 years of experience in online instruction, Sabrina provides Canvas, Zoom, and online teaching support to her colleagues at both institutions.
In addition to her work as an educator, Professor Nelson is active in the independent film community, relying on her twenty-six years experience in independent television and film production. Her current project, in pre-production, is a documentary about the historical costume dance community.
