Biography
Tatiana Dutra e Mello has an MA in Education from San Francisco State University and a BA in Communications from Universidade Federal Fluminense. In addition to teaching Portuguese courses at all available levels at USF, Professor Dutra e Mello has been actively involved in promoting the Portuguese language and the Brazilian culture in the Bay Area. She is a co-founder of IBEC, a community Portuguese language school, and the coordinator of Projeto Contadores de Estórias (The Storytellers), a community outreach program for Portuguese speaking children. Her research interests include phonology, sociolinguistics, heritage language teaching and online/distance language learning.
