Biography

Salnave's passion for producing narratives rooted in issues of community, upward mobility, and urban life are born of her interests in the study and portrayal of diversity in film/television, and her desire to create positive narratives in media. Her work has screened at film festivals across the world and she holds several awards for her documentary work. Salnave has worked in the entertainment industry in Television Development under Brian Grazer at IMAGINE Entertainment, Produced on SHOWTIME's docu-series Couples Therapy, and worked as a Creative Director at an Oakland- based video agency directing documentaries and commercial videos for companies such as Google, Jeep, Airbnb, Microsoft, HP, and more. She has also taught a range of college courses in Film Production, Film Theory and Critique, and Multi-Media Production at USC, Saint Mary’s College of California, and several artist development organizations.

Salnave balances activism with entertainment in her production teaching style by allowing students to play with drama, comedy, and thrill while also tackling progressive issues and social commentary.
