Why did you choose the MS in Information Systems (MSIS) program?

I wanted to pursue my business and product management career in the tech industry and hence I chose information system. What I liked the most is I gained fair knowledge about everything I need to know about project management frameworks in building a technical product, data analytics, cloud technologies, data compliance, ethical frameworks and cybersecurity.

What are you doing now?

I recently completed my project as a consultant with a project management consultancy company and currently volunteering with a SaaS start up company as their product ideator. Given my engineering background I support them in product development working cross functionally with the development and design team, ensuring the sprint deliverable meet the requirements and deadline. I also support in the R&D of the product.

How did USF prepare you for your current job?

USF gave me the basics I need to know to start my career in the technology industry. Most important the exposure and the network of people I was introduced to was a huge help.

Any words of advice for future MSIS students?

Prioritize your time and energy effectively. I suggest everyone to actively participate in every event the University is arranging. Make use of the opportunities and resources the university provides. Be present and vigilant.

It’s the network you build with people in the industry by being part of USF that will take you a long way in your career. Don’t shy away to show up and connect with people.
