“Change the World from Here” means to me that I must do my very best to influence, honor, teach, acknowledge differences, respect others and give back on a daily basis in my work at USF. The students I teach will see the example I set and will go from here with these same values and spread the importance of being safe, competent, dedicated to duty and service and provide a genuine caring spirit to their patients and the world.
My passion for pursuing the medical industry, which led me into nursing, grew from my father, who suffered from chronic illness. My father could easily get sick, and it was hard to avoid even a cold as a kid. This experience shaped how I perceive illness and healing. My family and I would do anything to prevent him from getting sick.
