Study Migration

As an undergrad, build a strong foundation in Latin American and Latiné histories, cultures, and societies. Strengthen your Spanish-language skills. Learn about migration history, law and public policy, and the causes and impacts of migration. In your fifth year, work on a graduate capstone project that investigates an aspect of migration. Prepare to address the needs of migrants and refugees around the world.

Complete at least 100 hours of one or more internships in migrant-serving or migrant-led non-profit advocacy or service institutions.

Secure positions working in nonprofit service providers, political and legal advocacy organizations, local, state, and federal government agencies, and advocacy groups. With an advanced degree and experience in the field, you'll be competitive in the job market and ready for further graduate and professional education, including JD and PhD programs.
