Biography

Megan Hutchinson is an Associate Professor of Legal Writing whose courses include Negotiation, Legal Research, Writing and Analysis, Employment Law, and American Legal Studies. As an attorney she represents employers in all aspects of employment litigation, with a focus on employment discrimination claims. In her practice, she also advises employers with respect to compliance issues arising under local, California, and federal labor and employment laws, including handbook policies, terminations, reductions in force, meal and rest periods, reimbursement of business expenses, leaves of absence, reasonable accommodations, and employee privacy. In addition to her practice and work at USF, Hutchinson has taught negotiation at UCLA School of Law, as well as employment law and negotiation at Golden Gate University School of Law. Hutchinson currently serves on her local school board. 

Hutchinson received her JD from UCLA School of Law, where she focused on education law, published two articles on accommodating students with disabilities, was a teaching assistant, and was an executive editor for the UCLA Law Review. Before going to law school, she received her BA and MA from Stanford University and taught middle school History and English in the Bay Area.
