Accelerated Pathways for Undergraduate Students
Already have an interest in studying law? USF offers law programs for undergraduate students that let you fast-track your degree or start building legal knowledge before you finish your bachelor’s degree.
Whether you want to become a lawyer or gain legal skills for careers in business, technology, public service, or compliance, USF provides flexible pathways designed for motivated students who want to move forward sooner.
Explore three legal pathways for USF undergraduate students:
Accelerated Master of Legal Studies (MLS)
Earn a Master of Legal Studies in one year after graduation. The Accelerated Master of Legal Studies (MLS) allows USF undergraduates to begin graduate-level law coursework while completing their bachelor’s degree. By taking two introductory bridge courses during your junior or senior year, you can complete the Master of Legal Studies degree in as little as one year after earning your bachelor’s degree.
The Accelerated MLS degree is designed for USF students who want practical legal knowledge and skills without pursuing a Juris Doctor (JD). Students learn legal analysis, research, and writing while building expertise relevant to careers in business, technology, compliance, law enforcement, and public service.
3+3 or 4+3 BA/JD Program
The 3+3 BA/JD program allows qualified USF undergraduates to apply to law school during their junior year and complete both a bachelor’s degree and a Juris Doctor (JD) in six years instead of seven. In this accelerated program, the first year of law school counts toward completion of the bachelor’s degree, allowing students to save time and start their career sooner. This pathway is ideal for students who want the fastest path to a JD.
The 3+4 BA/JD program provides qualified USF undergraduates with a guaranteed scholarship to attend USF Law. Students secure a place in a future JD class while finishing their undergraduate studies, providing a clear path from college to law school.
