Michael Muehe

Mike Muehe (he/him) is a Research Librarian & Assistant Professor of Law at the University of San Francisco’s Zief Law Library, where he teaches 1L legal research and upper-division Advanced Legal Research.

Prior to joining USF School of Law in 2021, he held various positions in law librarianship and brought to USF a range of legal information knowledge. He was an Archives Assistant on the Antonin Scalia Papers Project and an AALL George A. Strait Fellow at Harvard Law School Library’s Historical & Special Collections; a Creative Projects Intern for the Law Library of Congress; a Legislative Data Analyst Intern for the Library of Congress’ Congressional Research Service; and a Research & Access Services Librarian for Roger Williams University Law Library.

He earned his MS in Library and Information Science from Simmons University in Boston, and his JD from Roger Williams University School of Law in Rhode Island, where he served as a Teaching and Research Fellow for the Department of Academic Success and earned CALI Awards for Legal Research & Writing and Mediation. Prior to law school, he attended the University of Connecticut at Avery Point, where he earned a BA in American Studies & English and a BA in Political Science, with four minors in: Anthropology; History; Native American & Indigenous Studies; and Women’s, Gender, & Sexuality Studies.

He is a member of the American Association of Law Libraries and the Special Libraries Association, and is admitted to the Massachusetts and District of Columbia Bars.
