Taxation, MLST

Program Overview

USF's MLST program will equip you with the skills and specialized knowledge to launch a career in taxation, or elevate your current practice. The program is designed for non-lawyers, students with a bachelor’s degree who are interested in the field of taxation or accounting.

Program Structure

With online courses and both full-time and part-time enrollment options, the MLST program can be customized to meet your needs. Each seven-week semester avoids the busy tax season, with fall classes beginning after the October 15th filing deadline, spring classes ending the first week in March, and summer courses offered in June and July.

All courses are offered fully online in an asynchronous format, allowing students the ultimate flexibility to earn their degree in a way that works for them. Courses are taught by distinguished full-time faculty and adjunct professors. On a weekly basis, students have the opportunity to work directly with their professors and collaborate with other students. Using a dedicated online learning platform, students access course materials, view multimedia content, and work on course assignments.

Practice-Ready Graduates

Students graduate prepared for roles in private practice, in-house, government agencies, and tax departments of businesses across a range of industries. More than 90 percent of MLST graduates have jobs secured by the time they complete their degree.

Students benefit from a range of experiential learning opportunities, including the Tax Appeals Assistance Program and both private sector and government externships. In addition, faculty advisors and academic counselors guide students in course selections and offer professional development opportunities.

Andersen Partnership

Through a long-standing partnership, Andersen employees may enroll in USF’s Graduate Tax Programs at the firm’s expense. All MLST candidates learn alongside Andersen’s managers and associates as well as LLM candidates, allowing students to hone skills and build connections.

Andersen and Andersen Global employees should contact AndersenUSF@Andersen.com for partnership information and application details.
