When Olivia Hershman arrived at USF in the spring of 2022, she wasn’t sure where she fit in. “It seemed like everyone else was already connected when I moved into Hayes-Healy, like I had missed some window of opportunity to make friends,” she said.
Here are more than a dozen ways to celebrate Black History Month at USF. This year’s theme is “Labor and Love in the Time of Resistance.”
At the University of San Francisco, a theology class is a part of the undergraduate core curriculum — and a part of USF’s Jesuit Catholic education.
"A lot of these big boxes have not changed their business model in the last 50 years, shifting consumer habits to some of the post-pandemic economic shifts and I think we're still kind of feeling some of the shift towards more e-commerce."
"State Emerging Tech Courts would allow judges interested in emerging technology to develop deep expertise, enabling cases to move quickly and building up state precedent. In turn, this approach would attract more technology companies to that jurisdiction."
Regarding the landmark 1898 Supreme Court case brought by Wong Kim Ark establishing birthright citizenship under the 14th Amendment, Hing said, “All the Supreme Court concentrated on was, ‘Are you subject to the jurisdiction to the United States when you’re born here?’ And the answer is yes.”
USF computer science students are working on software and artificial intelligence projects with the guidance of professors, alumni, and friends from local tech companies.
