HORIZON COLLECTIVE
Eligibility
The Horizon Collective launched in fall 2025. For fall 2026, we expect to admit selected first-year students across 17 majors. As the Collective grows, we plan to expand to more majors and students.
When I was applying to colleges I didn’t see any other option like this at any other school…(the Horizon Collective) is an amazing opportunity to learn new things outside of your discipline, and hang out with cool people."

When you respond to USF’s short-answer question, tell us you’re interested in joining the Collective. And highlight any experiences you’ve had in climate and sustainability, health and wellbeing, and AI and technology. This can include telling us your vision for the work you hope to do after graduation in any of these fields.
- Be sure to include on your activities list any club membership or leadership, community volunteer work, or other time you’ve given to health, tech, or sustainability issues during high school.
- After you submit your application to USF, our readers will nominate students who should be considered for the Horizon Collective.
- Nominees will be asked via email to confirm their interest in joining the Collective by completing a brief online form, so keep a close eye on the email address you used in your application.
- Once we have identified our finalists and those we will hold on a waiting list, we will email you to let you know our decision.
