Internships
Each spring semester, you can take Literature & Writing Internships, a class that gives you an internship plus course credit. Come work in a field such as publishing, journalism, editing, teaching, law, technology, communication, or writing.
In this class, you work in the classroom and work at the internship. In the classroom, you learn how a USF English degree applies to a whole range of careers. In the internship, you learn by doing. Our students have held internships most recently at the following organizations.
- 826 Valencia is a nonprofit organization that helps students ages 6 to 18 with their creative and expository writing skills and helps teachers inspire their students to write. Our students intern here every year.
- African American Shakespeare Company provides a place for actors of color to hone their talent in mastering some of the world’s greatest classical roles.
- Aunt Lute Books is a nonprofit multicultural women’s press based in San Francisco.
