Overview: Matthew Chivvis is a Partner in the Intellectual Property Group of Morrison & Foerster LLP, where he specializes in life sciences and technology litigation. He joined the firm in 2008 after clerking for Chief Judge James Ware of the Northern District of California (ret.). While at USF Law he was a member of the executive board of Law Review, and an Academic Excellence Award recipient.

Overview: Jessie Albani is a Sr. Associate at Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP. Jesse focuses his practice on public finance and project finance transactions.
Jamal Anderson '13
Overview: Jamal Anderson is an Assistant District Attorney in the San Francisco District Attorney's Office where he handles General Felonies/Hate Crimes. He previously worked as a Senior Associate at the Renne Public Law Group (RPLG) in San Francisco, where his practice focused on representing and advising public agencies in litigation and general advice issues, conducting independent investigations, and assisting public agencies with police reform. Prior to joining RPLG, Mr. Anderson served as a Deputy District Attorney in the San Mateo County District Attorney’s Office for six years.

She also serves as the Chairperson to the City and County of San Francisco’s Sweatfree Procurement Advisory Group. Prior to her role at Earthjustice, she was a partner at Weinberg, Roger & Rosenfeld.

Overview: Jennifer George is a partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP. Jennifer specializes in the tax and legal issues with offering employee equity plans globally, compensation design/structuring and U.S. taxation of equity. Prior to law school, Jennifer practiced as a CPA.

Overview: Ms. Gould is currently serving on advisory boards and as a limited partner in several early stage funds. Prior to these roles, she served as an executive at private and public companies in the life sciences and technology fields, including roles as Chief Administrative Officer and General Counsel. Early in her law career, Ms. Gould worked as an associate at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, PC and O'Melveny & Myers LLP.

Overview: Mr. Kevin Jackson is an attorney with Freeman, Freeman & Smiley, LLP in Los Angeles. He represents fiduciaries and individuals throughout California in a wide range of trust and estate matters. While in law school, Mr. Jackson was a senior staff member of the law review, a member of the moot court board, a course tutor for the school’s academic support program, and the academic chair and national delegate for the University of San Francisco’s Black Law Students Association.

Jaffe is a partner in the San Francisco office of Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, where his practice focuses on high-stakes intellectual property disputes, including patent, trade secret, copyright and trademark litigation.Prior to joining Wilson Sonsini, Jordan was a partner in the San Francisco office of law firm Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan, where he was chair of the autonomous vehicle practice.

Overview: Liza Levitt is Vice President, Deputy General Counsel - Platforms, Responsible AI, Emerging Technology at Intuit. Prior to her current position, Liza has worked in roles such as Director, Deputy General Counsel, and Assistant General Counsel at Intuit, as well as holding positions at The Crucible, Electronic Frontier Foundation, Herzig & Berlese, and Negroni & Winston, PLLC.

Mr. Obaro is currently President of the Federal Bar Association’s Northern District of California Chapter, and he also serves as a Lawyer Representative to the Ninth Circuit Judicial Council.

Overview: After over a decade of service as a deputy public defender, Christine Mari Palma Start transitioned to her current role as Special Deputy Attorney General for California Attorney General Rob Bonta focusing on criminal justice reform and civil rights. Christine was featured as one of nine women criminal defense attorneys in The Feminine Sixth: Women for the Defense by Andrea Lyon. In addition to serving on the USF School of Law Board of Governors, she is the Visionary Founder and Executive Director of Pinay Powerhouse, Co-Chair of the Women Lawyers Network for the National Filipino American Lawyers Association, Advisory Board Member of the Filipino Bar Association of Northern California, board member of the Asian Pacific American Bar Association of Solano County, Civic Engagement Committee Member of Asian Pacific American Women Lawyers Association and a California Asian Pacific American Bar Association Public LEAD Fellow. Christine was recognized as a “Best Lawyer Under 40” by the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association in 2017 and was the recipient of USF School of Law’s “Pursuit of Justice” Award in 2010. Christine graduated from UC Berkeley in 2006 and USF School of Law in 2010.
